In addition to dedicating countless hours of his time putting together ProphetofDoom.net, Craig has also been very generous in helping to compensate me for the work I have been doing on the new web site and creating the audio rendition of the book.

To further compensate me for my efforts, he has offered to let me sell the few boxes of Prophet of Doom that he had set aside for himself when the book was published.

Our readers have very graciously offered as much as $200 on eBay for some of these books, but eBay has now followed the same ignorant path that our media and countries like Canada, England, Australia, etc... have. They have stopped us from selling Prophet of Doom, stating that it is "hateful." We responded by agreeing that it was very hateful, but asked for an exemption since we didn't write those parts - they are simply quotes from Islamic scripture. Surprisingly, eBay did not respond.

Now, PayPal (another eBay company) has given us notice that our account has been suspended until we stop using its services. When asked for the reasons, they stated that we were "racists." We tried to point out that we were the opposite of racists; that much of what we were doing was an effort to make people aware of a doctrine that is bigoted against women, Jews, Christians, people with black skin, and humanity in general. We also asked them to read some of our articles, where we are very explicit about how we are being critical about a doctrine - not a people. That is, Islam is a scourge on all humankind, and Muslims are its most abused victims.

I tried to emphasize that we believe that most Muslims are good people, although these people are by definition bad Muslims. Like many who follow a doctrine, they are ignorant of and/or choose to disregard much of what it asks of its adherents. The problems arise when Muslims actually follow the wretchedness their role-model prophet and god demand of them.

I pointed out that they were acting hypocritically, since they would ban our supposed racism-filled work, but do not ban the sale of Qur'aans at eBay or via PayPal. I also told them that to throw out a label of "racist" without offering any proof, was irresponsible from a corporate perspective. But more importantly, it was morally and ethically wrong.

Not during two phone conversations with PayPal persons, nor in any part of five email exchanges, was PayPal able nor willing to present one line or quote from Prophet of Doom to justify their actions against us and the label of "racist" they cast. In our last exchange, we even asked them to at least take a couple of minutes to read the handful of pages in the Letter to the Reader at the very beginning of Prophet of Doom. If they were concerned with evidence rather than content to take a politically-correct stance without any consideration of its merit nor its repercussions, they would have found this "buried" there deep within the book’s first three pages:
"I pray that when you have reached the journey’s end, you will share my heart for the plight of Muslims. I want nothing more than to free them from Islam." - Craig Winn - Letter to the Reader

And, of course, the very first words of this book - its dedication, reads:

Of course, PayPal acted just as one would expect. Although, they did surprise me when they didn’t even feign considering the evidence we presented before passing down their final decision to cast Prophet of Doom on the virtual book-burning bonfire. We received PayPal’s last response less than five minutes after sending out our last request for them to read one or two lines of our book before they labeled it as "racist:"

So, please consider this story and the power eBay / PayPal wields in their censorship the next time you consider doing business with them.

And for Canadian orders, an extra $16 covers the added shipping costs, while other International shipments cost about $25 more than US orders. Also, the US Post Office asks for a phone number to call in case there is confusion with non-US shipments. We know that this is a lot to spend on a book, but your help allows me to dedicate more time to the site and there is a limited supply of books.

Regarding the limited supply of Prophet of Doom volumes, we are considering putting together another printing of the book. The thought is to break Prophet of Doom into three volumes to make them printable in papaerback (and maybe less daunting to read). We are also looking into how to put together a CD presentation of the audio version of the book.
