- May 1, 2002: A bomb blew up in the garden of the British Council in Gaza.

- May 1, 2002: In Pakistan, four people were injured when a bomb exploded outside a juice shop in eastern Karachi. The bomb had been left there in a bag, and the attacks occurred one day before a Muttahida Qami Movement strike was to protest the authorities' failure to make any arrests after the assassinations of two party leaders the week before.

- May 1, 2002: In Pakistan, a bomb exploded in Karachi's Empress vegetable market, injuring eight.

- May 1, 2002: In India, a bomb described as an innocuous-looking plastic ball filled with nails exploded at a Hindu temple in Ahmedabad. More than 1,000 people had been killed in Islamic-sponsored violence in Gujarat since February 2002.

- May 3, 2002: In Kashmir, Muslim militants gunned down a civilian in his home in the Khous village.

- May 3, 2002: In Kashmir, jihadists shot five people in three villages in the Doda district. In Madiyani they murdered two brothers. In Langdar they killed a father and son. Then in Kund they assassinated a young man. These dozen gunmen escaped into the hills. Hezbul Mujahideen's Billal group was suspected, having lost several fighters in the area recently to rival jihadist organizations.

Hizb ul-Mujahideen is the largest Kashmiri terrorist group. It supports the surrender of Kashmir and its forced incorporation into Islamic Pakistan. The group is the militant wing of Pakistan's largest Islamic political party, the Jamaat-i-Islami. It primarily targets Indians in Kashmir and conducts operations jointly with other Kashmiri jihadists as part of the United Jihad Council.

The Party of Holy Warriors operated in Afghanistan through the mid-1990s and trained alongside the Afghan Hezb-I-Islami Gulbuddin in Afghanistan until the Taliban takeover. The group is composed of Pakistanis and Kashmiris along with with some foreign sources. Pakistani reports estimate that Hezb ul-Mujahideen controls about 60% of terrorists operating in Kashmir.

The group was originally called Al Badr, after the terrorist raid that rejuvenated Muhammad's failed religion, but it was renamed the Army of Holy Warriors. The Jamaat-e-Islami set up this terrorist front at the prodding of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). Since 1997, they have operated in tandem with Lashkar-e-Toiba. HM provides the local knowledge and support to organizations like Harkat-ul Ansar and the Lashkar-e-Toiba, whose cadre are largely foreign jihadists. HM has also been the target of counter-terrorism groups composed of former terrorists who were decimated by the Hezb-ul Mujahideen during the early nineties in their quest to dominate terrorism in Kashmir.

- May 4, 2002: Speaking of Kashmir, two civilians were abducted and one killed in Kupwara. Islamic gunmen shot and killed a contractor whom they had abducted in the Barzalla village. Three people were shot to death near the Line of Control in Poonch district. Then jihadists entered a home in Rajouri and assassinated the owner.

- May 5, 2002: In Pakistan, an activist from a Sunni religious party was shot and killed in central Karachi. The attack part of the city's escalating sectarian violence.

- May 5, 2002: In Kashmir, Muslim militants entered a house in Bandipura and kidnapped the two sons of a man who they did not like, later beheading both of them.  Later that day, police recovered the body of a shopkeeper in Pulwama. The man had been abducted by militants the day before.

- May 6, 2002: In Pakistan, a Shi'ite leader of a technical college in Karachi was shot and killed along with his driver and another companion as they arrived at work. Their car was ambushed by three young masked men who escaped on motorcycles. The murders were part of the rising tide of religious infighting targeting Shi'ites in Pakistan's troubled port city of Karachi - the religious capital of the country.

- May 6, 2002: In Thailand, Islamic gunmen fired on a police post in the Narathiwat Province.

- May 6, 2002: In the Netherlands, a Dutch politician was shot six times upon entering his limousine after finishing an interview at a radio station in Hilversum, east of Amsterdam. He was openly gay prime ministerial candidate who was campaigning on a ticket to reform public services and to end immigration. Economist reports that Fortuyn wanted to halt immigration from Muslim countries out of a fear that Muslims would "erode the country's tolerance of homosexuals." In November 2002, Volkert van der Graaf admitted to murdering Fortuyn. He stated that he perpetrated the assault to protect Muslim immigrants.

- May 6, 2002: In Kashmir, a girl, was abducted by Muslim militants from Mahore. She was found dead on the banks of the Ans river three days later.

This same day, Muslim men shot a woman to death in Bandipura after forcing their way into her father's house.

- May 7, 2002: Sixteen Israelis were killed and another 41 were injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up inside Spiel pool hall in Rishon Letzion. The Muslim murderer entered with a suitcase full of explosives rather than wearing the usual explosives belt.

- May 7, 2002: In Pakistan, a prominent Sunni religious scholar and his driver were shot to death by two armed Shia on a motorcycle. The attackers were intercepted by police shortly afterwards but the gunmen shot and killed the policemen. The attack was related to the outbreak of sectarian-targeted killings in Pakistan's southern city of Karachi.

- May 7, 2002: In the Philippines, a mortar round was found along a highway outside Zamboanga. Designed as an IED, it had been placed in a canister by the road.

- May 8, 2002: In Pakistan, 13 people, 11 French citizens, their Pakistani bus driver, and a Pakistani bystander, were killed and another 25 were wounded, including 12 more French citizens, when a car bomb detonated outside Karachi's Sheraton Hotel, killing the Islamic suicide bomber.

Suicide bombings are rare in Pakistan because armed assaults are preferred. They are more personal and allow for the perpetrators to torture their victims. This attack was believed to be a response to President General Musharraf's alliance with the United States and the West. While Pakistani officials living in a state of denial, suggested Indian involvement, the attack was clearly Islamic.

The French were in Karachi working on Pakistani submarines on behalf of a French state-owned maritime construction company.

- May 8, 2002: In Israel, an Islamic suicide bomber's case of explosives blew up prematurely at the Megiddo Junction. The bomb detonated while the Muslim was waiting for a bus or car to pick him up. The bomber was seriously wounded but not killed. There would be virgins for him.

- May 8, 2002: In Kashmir, Muslims hurled a bomb at the house of a National Conference activist in Handwara.

- May , 2002: In Lebanon, a bomb went off at dawn outside a Kentucky Fried Chicken in the northern city of Tripoli, injuring the night security guard. The attack could be related to calls to boycott American products due to U.S. support for Israel.

- May 9, 2002: In Burma, a bomb explosion at a hotel in Tachilek, on the border with Thailand, killed four people.

- May 9, 2002: A fuel bomb was thrown into the Armenian Embassy in London, causing a fire in the building.

- May 9, 2002: In Russia, 40 people were killed in an explosion from a remote controlled bomb during a Russian "Victory Day" ceremony in Dagestan. Many of the fatalities were members of a marching band and other spectators. This bombing was connected to reports of the Chechen warlord Kattab's death. Islamists linked to al-Qaeda were suspected as the world continued to blame its woes on a symptom rather than the disease. Other Russian officials blamed "Wahabism," as if that were a corrupted brand of Islam.

- May 10, 2002: In Slovenia, a hand grenade destroyed the car of the president of a local radio station in Jagodina.

- May 11, 2002: In Kashmir, a group of militants attacked the village of Butshungni-Winder, opening fire on residents, killing two and wounding one.

- May , 2002: A gas canister was set ablaze inside a central subway station in Milan, Italy. A few yards away from the canister, a pro-Islam banner was found. Slogans praising the cause of Allah were written in Italian and Arabic.

- May 12, 2002: Five days after Dutch politician Pim Fortuyn was killed, another bomb exploded in a car parked in front of the house of a local politician.

- May 12, 2002: In Kashmir gunmen killed a man from Salwah Mendhar by slitting his throat.

- May 13, 2002: In Afghanistan, a young Muslim man threw a grenade into a video cassette store in Khost. One person was wounded and the store was damaged. Such shops were banned under the Taliban regime.

- May 13, 2002: In Kashmir, police recovered the body of a strangled man in a forest near Shopian. The same day, a civilian was shot to death by jihadists in the Sarwan village.

- May 13, 2002: In India, three bombs were thrown at a Coca-Cola bottling plant in Bihar. Pamphlets left at the site condemned foreign goods. Police said that the bombings may have been related to an extortion scheme.

The same day, a train traveling from New Delhi to Patna crashed near Jaunpur, killing twelve and injuring one hundred. Authorities found evidence that the track had been sabotaged.

- May 13, 2002: Two bombs placed in a trash can near the Ritz Carlton Istanbul Hotel and the Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel in Istanbul exploded.

- May 14, 2002: Two mortars were fired by Palestinians at Israeli civilians in the Gaza Strip.

- May 14, 2002: Muslim militants fired on a passenger bus in Kaluchak, Jammu, killing seven. They then entered a housing complex and killed three soldiers and seven children before they were killed. The al-Mansooran and Jamiat ul-Mujahideen claimed responsibility.

- May 15, 2002: In Chechnya, a local village administrator was killed by an armed band of jihadists.

- May 15, 2002: In Kashmir, terrorists killed a National Conference activist at his home in Magam. The following day, jihadists assassinated a National Conference leader at his home in Magam. Next, police recovered the body of a former militant from Balhama.

- May 17, 2002: An Israeli died of injuries sustained in a Palestinian shooting attack north of Tulkarm.

- May 17, 2002: In Kashmir, the body of a former militant from Pinjoza was found. He had been abducted several days before.

- May 17, 2002: In Bosnia, a local Muslim community center in the Serb-majority Bijeljina was targeted. This may have been connected to refugee return and resulting antipathy in the Serb community. There was no significant damage.

- May 17, 2002: In Pakistan, two people were injured when eight rockets were fired at the District Coordinating Office of Kohlu.

- May 18, 2002: An Israeli security officer was wounded when a man infiltrated the Bet-El settlement and stabbed him.

- May 18, 2002: In Kashmir, police recovered the mutilated body of a man from Karim.

- May 19, 2002: In Afghanistan, a candidate for the Loya Jirga (grand assembly) was shot to death in the western district of Chaghcharan. Muhammad Raheem had been nominated in the first two rounds of voting.

- May 19, 2002: In Israel, three bystanders were killed and another 56 were wounded when an Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up in Netanya's open-air market. Both the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) and HAMAS claimed credit, but since they were rivals, one of the two organizations was confessing to a mass murder and mutilation they did not perpetrate. The Muslim bomber was dressed in an Israel Defense Force uniform.

- May 19, 2002: Gene Vance, 38, of the Virginia National Guard was killed a long way from the homeland he thought he was defending when his unit came under fire from Muslim mujahideen during a patrol in eastern Afghanistan. .

- May 19, 2002: In Kashmir, Muslim gunmen who had trained in Afghanistan shot and killed a man from Mattan.

- May 20, 2002: In Afghanistan, a delegate to the Loya Jirga (grand assembly) from Chakhcharan was killed by jihadists in his home.

- May 20, 2002: In Israel, an Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up at the Ta'anakhim junction just west of the West Bank. A suspicious observer called the police who demanded identification from the bomber who promptly blew himself to Allah. No one else was hurt.

- May 20, 2002: In Hungary, a state-owned bank was attacked with a fuel bomb.

- May 20, 2002: An Israeli was wounded at the Etzyon Bloc junction when he was stabbed by a Palestinian from the nearby village of Bayt Fajjar. Palestinians fired at an Israeli car in the Nablus district.

- May 20, 2002: The son of the Popular Front from the Liberation of Palestine, General Command founder and leader Ahmed Jibril, was killed by a bomb planted under the driver's seat of his car in Beirut. This attack could have been carried out by rival Palestinian factions, Hizballah, or by Israel.

- May 20, 2002: Two mortar shells were fired at a settlement in the Gaza Strip's Qatif Bloc.

- May 21, 2002: In Serbia, a bomb was thrown into a residential area. The cause and motive are unclear.

- May 21, 2002: In Islamic Indonesia, an unarmed Army Sergeant in plain clothes was shot and killed by a passenger on a bus.

- May 21, 2002: In Kashmir, Hurriyat Conference leader Abdul Ghani Lone was shot to death by men wearing state police uniforms in Srinagar. The same day, the body of a man kidnapped two nights before was found in Akhli Narkot.

- May 21, 2002: In bomb was discovered in a Grozny market in Checnya. The explosive was timed to go off in midday, when the market would be most crowded.

- May 22, 2002: In Pakistan, a Sepah-e-Sahaba Pakistan militant was shot to death in Karachi by two Muslims on a motorcycle. Shias aren't fond of Sunnis.

- May 22, 2002: In Kashmir, Pakistani gunmen abducted and later killed Ali Muhammad of Kandi. Then jihadists shot and killed a forester outside his home. His cousin was a police official, which may have been a factor in the attack. A man from Warpora Sopore was shot and killed by jihadist near his home.

- May 22, 2002: In Israel, three pedestrians were killed and twenty-seven were injured when an Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up in Rishon le Zion near Tel Aviv. A few hours earlier, Israel assassinated a well-known Palestinian terrorist and two of his associates. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed the attack, describing it as retaliation.

- May 22, 2002: A suicide bomber blew himself up near a group of Border Policemen near Jenin in the West Bank. No one else was injured, but that didn't stop the Palestinian Islamic Jihad for claiming credit.

- May 22, 2002: A hand grenade was thrown at the house of an Albanian in Serbia.

- May 22, 2002: Another Palestinian blew himself up at the Ta'anakhim intersection in northern Israel after being approached by suspicious police. No one else was hurt, and the bomber's intended destination and target are unknown.

- May 23, 2002: In Afghanistan, Muslim men poured gasoline on three Chaman music shops and torched them. Such stores were banned under the Taliban.

- May 23, 2002: An IED was found on the road leading to the community of Morag in Israel.

- May 23, 2002: This was a particularly mischievous time in Columbia. While the acts appeared to be terrorist in nature, they were actually financially motivated. Two groups, the ELN and FARC, both formerly Marxists, one also Catholic, were now engaged in the drug and extortion business.

The National Liberation Army (ELN) was presumed responsible for leaving a car bomb intended to damage a bridge over the Ariguani River. The ELN was presumed responsible for destroying the El Guanabano Bridge with a truck bomb. Four persons were injured in that blast. At an illegal roadblock in Camperucho, ELN rebels kidnapped Pedro Pineres, an employee with the Bosconia mayor's office. At another roadblock, ELN guerrillas kidnapped Alfonso Restrepo, a local hospital director.

There were a series of attacks on electricity pylons belonging to the Medellin Public Enterprises. The first was on Paramo Hill in Guatape Municipality. The second was on the military base at the La Cuana substation. The third occurred in front of the Carvajal Company in Itagui. A fourth attack took place in Bello. The last reported incident was on a structure in Copacabana. Electricity was cut off to seven municipalities after an energy pylon in Cuatro Esquinas exploded. Another pole was damaged at the El Carmen electric substation in Bolivar. Authorities attributed these attacks to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

The mayor's office building in Cesar was the target of an attack authorities attributed to FARC. Jose Ovidio Montilla, a town prosecutor, was kidnapped while voting in the presidential elections by FARC rebels. The Medellin headquarters of Presidential candidate Alvaro Uribe Velez was bombed. An explosive device was found unexploded in front of presidential candidate Alvaro Uribe Velez's campaign headquarters in Villamaria. The National Register office in charge of organizing elections in Ipiales was destroyed by a bomb.

The ELN is a Cuban Revolution group, heavily influenced by the early actions and theories of Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. The ELN emerged following the overthrow of the Cuban government by Guevara and Castro in 1959. The National Liberation Army was founded by urban, left-wing intellectuals with strong ties to rural farmers along with a radicalized group of oil sector unionists. Radical members of the Catholic clergy joined the group in late 1965. This was the first time that Christians and Marxists had joined together in a Colombian revolutionary movement. The ELN's unique founding philosophy strongly emphasized socialism along with the liberation theology of the Catholic Church. The ELN's self-appointed role was to represent the rural poor and decrease the foreign presence in Colombia.

The Colombian Department of Administrative Security estimated that in 1998 alone, the ELN obtained $84 million from ransoms and $255-million from extortion. Employees of oil companies constituted a large percentage of the ELN's targets. The kidnapping and extortion of oil company employees remains the Marxist/Catholic group's primary source of income. However, more recently they have collected a "property tax" from coca and poppy cultivators and drug lords.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) grew out of the Colombian Communist Party of the 1960s. The FARC received funding from the Soviet Union during the Cold War. But since the Soviet financial well had dried up, FARC turned to cocaine trafficking and production to sustain its operations. While the FARC continues to wage a war of words devoted to Marxist principles, their battles are all fought for the express purpose of controlling the cocaine trade. But that is not to say that FARC won't pursue kidnapping, extortion, and hijacking when it serves their financial interests.

- May 23, 2002: Palestinians fired a mortar shell from the Gaza Strip across the Green Line. A 75-pound bomb was found and safely defused near the greenhouses of Morag.

- May 25, 2002: In Indonesia, a ferry boat filled with Christians was attacked by masked gunmen in speedboats. Ambon has been the scene of intense terrorism by Muslims against Christians. In this attack, four people were killed and 12 were injured.

- May 25, 2002: In Kashmir, Pakistani gunmen shot and killed a rival Muslim militant in Harwan.

- May 25, 2002: In Iraq, a bomb was found and defused in front of a cultural center in Al-Sulaymaniyah which was under Kurdish control.

- May 26, 2002: In Kashmir, gunmen abducted a man from Adebal Watoo and killed him.

- May 27, 2002: Several bombs were thrown into a police station in Kamez, Albania.

- May 27, 2002: Ruth Peled, 56, of Herzliya and her infant granddaughter, aged 14-months, were murdered and 37 Israelis were injured when a Fatah Muslim suicide bomber detonated himself near an ice cream parlor outside a shopping mall in Petah Tikva, Israel. No wonder hell is unpleasant, it's full of Muslims.

- May 27, 2002: In Russian, a bomb planted beneath an anti-semitic sign which read, "Death to the Jews" detonated when a woman tried to remove the sign.

- May 27, 2002: In Israel, a demented Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance to Bravissimo café in Petah Tikva north of Tel Aviv. This animal killed two others and injured 20 Israelis. The al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed credit for the barbarism.

- May 27, 2002: In Israel, bomb disposal experts safely defused an explosive charge that had been planted behind a Jerusalem building.

- May 28, 2002: Albert Maloul, 50, of Jerusalem, was killed when shots were fired at his car by Islamic terrorists who belonged to Fatah.

- May 28, 2002: Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades terrorists killed Netanel Riachi, 17, Gilad Stiglitz, 14, and Avraham Siton, 17, three Yeshiva High School students who were playing basketball. There is something about Islam which makes far too many Muslims sub-human. .

- May 28, 2002: An Israeli was killed and another was wounded when shots were fired at the car they were driving south of the West Bank settlement of Ofra.

- May 28, 2002: In Kashmir, a fireman was gunned down near Srinagar. A Muslim man was shot and killed near Bandipora. Then jihadists murdered two Muslim sisters in the Sharat village. One of the two was a government employee.

- May 28, 2002: In Thailand, four Islamic gunmen on motorcycles fired at two police officers, killing them and injuring two bystanders.

- May 29, 2002: In India, three bombs planted on three separate buses exploded within minutes of each other in the Ahmedaba area. A fourth bomb, found at a bus stop, was disarmed. Ahmedabad had been the scene of religious violence perpetrated by Muslims against Hindus which had left over 1,000 people dead.

- May 29, 2002: In Kashmir Muslims entered a home in Mohd Din and murdered the owner's daughter and son-in-law. Can you imagine the curriculum that must have been taught at Osama bin Laden's Afghani terrorist training bases to lead to such repulsive behavior.

- May 29, 2002: In Kashmir, a journalist from the local English daily Kashmir Images was shot the head at point-blank range by three gunmen while working in his office in Srinagar.

- May 30, 2002: In Croatia, an explosive device went off in a fertilizer plant.

- May 30, 2002: In Kashmir, gunmen shot and killed a former militant at his home in Meerangun.

- May 31, 2002: A Palestinian infiltrated Shavei Shomron settlement, fired on the residents and threw a grenade.

- June 1, 2002: In Afghanistan, one person was injured in a large bomb blast against the city's governmental headquarters. A spokesman suggested the attack was an effort to destabilize the Loya Jerga (grand tribal council) process.

- June 1, 2002: In Macedonia, a hand grenade was thrown into a Christian monastery in Kumanovo. Two additional grenades were planted in the monastery as well. Macedonia's Albanian Muslim population had increasingly been terrorizing the Slavic Macedonian Orthodox population.

- June 1, 2002: In Kashmir, Islamic gunmen shot and killed a farmer in Botingo.

- June 1, 2002: In the Philippines, four Indonesian sailors were abducted by members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) while piloting a coal barge. Two of the hostages escaped. One victim died in captivity. The final kidnap victim was found by government troops on Jolo Island.

- June 2, 2002: In Israel a bomb was dismantled near the Qatif Bloc junction. Three mortar shells were fired at the settlement later in the day. Then a Palestinian woman attempted to stab a border policeman at the Gilo-Bethlehem roadblock but stopped when the officer drew a gun.

- June 2, 2002: A fire bomb was thrown into the Deniz Cafeteria in Istanbul.

- June 2, 2002: In Russia, a bomb hidden in a cell phone exploded injuring the man who had found it.

- June 3, 2002: In southern Lebanon's Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp, Muslims threw a grenade at the house of a Fatah official, Colonel Munir al-Maqdah of the group's al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades wing. Al-Maqdah accused Israel of being behind the attack because he hated Jews, but the assault was the result of infighting within the Palestinian community.

- June 3, 2002: In Turkey, a resonant bomb placed in a garbage can in Srencebey Park in Istanbul exploded. Another bomb placed by a tree in at the Horse Square neighborhood of Istanbul exploded.

- June 4, 2002: In Pakistan, the younger brother of a well-known social worker was wounded in an attack as he was on his way home. Three jihadists hit Edhi with pistol butts in the head. He is a business man involved in construction.

- June 5, 2002: In Thailand, three teenage students were killed when the vehicle in which they were riding was ambushed by three masked Muslim gunmen. Thirteen people were wounded in the attack.

- June 5, 2002: A car packed with explosives was blown up by an Islamic suicide bomber next to an Egged bus at the Megiddo junction in northern Israel. The blast killed 17 Israelis and injured t10 more. Palestinian Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Squads claimed credit for the grizzly affair.

- June 5, 2002: In Kashmir, police recovered the tortured body of a Sanigan man. He had been abducted several days earlier. That same night, gunmen forced their way into the house of a man in Dardpora and shot him to death.

- June 5, 2002: In Indonesia, a bomb on a bus in Sulawesi killed four and wounded 17. The blast was designed to provoke hostilities between Muslims and Christians on the island. A peace agreement signed in December 2001 obviously had no effect.

- June 5, 2002: In Israel, an IED was found in a park in Jerusalem.

- June 5, 2002: In Kashmir, Islamic gunmen shot and killed a man from Goshbugh.

- June 5, 2002: In Indonesia, a bomb exploded on a bus en route to Poso in Sulawesi, the site of Muslim-Christian violence over the last two years. Four Christians were killed and 17 were wounded.

- June 5, 2002: An Israeli was wounded in a shooting attack on his car near Wadi al-Haramiyah north of Ramallah. He died of his injuries later that day.

- June 6, 2002: In Macedonia, there was an explosion at the house of a Transport Ministry employee. This follows earlier explosive devices found nearby and threats made to the Skopje airport.

- June 6, 2002: In Kashmir, Islamic gunmen shot and killed a former militant at Botingo. The man had been a suspected informer.

- June 6, 2002: A Jew was killed by a Palestinian on his way home to Ofra.

- June 7, 2002: In India, Muslim militants attacked the residence of Manipur's Social Welfare Minister with hand grenades.

- June 7, 2002: In the Philippines, army troops attacked Islamic Abu Sayyaf terrorists on Mindanao Island in an attempt to rescue American Christian missionary, Martin Burnham, and his wife Gracia who had been kidnapped more than a year earlier. Mr. Burnham was killed but his wife, though wounded, escaped. A Filipino hostage was killed, as were four of the Islamicists. Seven soldiers were wounded.

- June 8, 2002: A shooting attack on the Gaza settlement of Karmei Tsur killed two Israelis and wounded six, one of whom later died of his injuries. The Izz-ad-Din al-Qassem Brigades claimed credit.

- June 8, 2002: In Kashmir, the bodies of four brothers were found dead in Udhampur. They had been kidnapped the day before. One had been a suspected informer.

The same day, jihadists stopped a bus carrying a marriage party near Gambir Mughalan and kidnapped the bride, her brother, the groom and his father. They were taken to the Galla village where the gunmen slit the bride's throat and released the others.

- June 9, 2002: An Israeli was wounded when shots were fired on the truck he was driving in the Neve Deqalim industrial zone. That afternoon, a mortar shell was fired at the Qatif Bloc of settlements.

- June 9, 2002: In Pakistan, Mir Aslam Gichki, a leader of the Balochistan National Party, was assassinated along with one companion south of Quetta. His convoy was ambushed.

- June 9, 2002: In Kashmir, a tortured body was recovered from the Mamoosa area. The same day, Muslims shot and injured two men from Chakoora. Then jihadists murdered a woman after they set fire to three houses in Mohalla.

- June 10, 2002: Israeli soldiers fatally shot a Palestinian who opened fire on an Israeli vehicle in the Gaza Strip.

- June 10, 2002: Muslims used a car bomb in Jakarta, Indonesia to terrorize tourists.

- June 11, 2002: Opposition political parties marched in Caracas to bring pressure to bear against Venezuelan OPECing President Hugo Chavez and force him to resign.

- June 11, 2002: Palestinians killed two Arab collaborators in the West Bank city of Hebron. One body was ceremoniously dragged to the place where a terrorist leader had been killed by an Israeli helicopter.

- June 11, 2002: Three Israelis were wounded in a Palestinian bombing attack on a Yeshiva school bus near Kiryat Arba.

- June 11, 2002: In Indonesia, a legislator from the Crescent Star Party was shot and killed at his home by two gunmen. Police blamed the Free Aceh Movement of fundamentalist Islamicists.

- June 11, 2002: An Israeli Border Policeman was wounded when he was stabbed in the throat near Herod's Gate in Jerusalem's Old City by a Muslim.

- June 11, 2002: One Israeli was killed and another eleven were wounded when an Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up at a Herzliya restaurant. The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed credit.

- June 11, 2002: In Kashmir, the bodies of two men were found near Malham. They had been kidnapped by Muslims a few days prior.

- June 11, 2002: In Thailand, Islamic gunmen shot and killed two policemen in Narathiwat. Muslim terrorists operating in the area were suspected.

- June 12, 2002: Three Americans died in Afghanistan today. Sean Corlew, 37, Anissa Shero, 31, and Peter Tycz, 32, were killed when an Air Force MC-130H Combat Talon transport plane crashed on takeoff in eastern Afghanistan.  .

- June 12, 2002: In Pakistan, three missiles were fired at the Frontier Constabulary camp in North Waziristan.

- June 13, 2002: In Afghanistan, a video store was destroyed by a bomb near Gardez in eastern Paktia Province.

- June 13, 2002: In Indonesia, a provincial councilor for the United Development Party was shot and killed. Police blamed the Islamic Free Aceh Movement (GAM).

- June 13, 2002: In Serbia, assailants threw a hand grenade at an ethnic Albanian home.

- June 14, 2002: A 70-pound explosive charge was found near Dugit in Israel and safely defused. The al-Qassem Brigades claimed credit for their failure.

- June 14, 2002: A car bomb exploded near the U.S. Consulate and the Marriott Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan. Eleven civilians were killed and 51 were wounded, including one U.S. Marine and one Japanese citizen. Having moved al Qaeda out of Afghanistan and into Pakistan (the only Islamic nation with nuclear weapons at the time) OBL's gang was suspected.

Pakistani police claimed that the bomb had been planted in a car driven by an unsuspecting group of women because the car actually belonged to a driving school. The women's driving patterns were known, and they were followed by someone who detonated the explosive when they passed the Consulate. A heretofore unknown group called al-Qanoon claimed responsibility, citing more terrorist acts to come. Pakistan as usual claimed Indian involvement in the attack because they had been trained by their religious prophet of lie.

The New York Times quoted a senior Pakistani intelligence official as saying there was near unanimity of opinion among officials that the attack was carried out by a loose coalition of Islamic groups known as Laskhar-i-Omar, after Omar Saeed Shaikh, the former leader of Jaish-e-Muhammad accused of masterminding the kidnapping and killing of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. The umbrella group is said to consist of members of Lashkar-i-Tayyaba, Jaish-e-Muhammad, and Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, as well as individuals from other militant Islamic organizations. The United States State Department said it suspected Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network was behind the attack because of the similarity of the attack to the bombing of a Karachi bus in May.

Al Qanoon warned that the attack was just the beginning, and that "America, its allies and its slave Pakistani rulers should be prepared for more attacks." "The bomb blast is the beginning of Al-Qanoon's jihadi activities in Pakistan," according to a letter the group sent to the Karachi newspaper Ummat. The letter also called on Muslim dictator President Pervez Musharraf to resign.

- June 14, 2002: There was an explosion in the center of Tblisi near the American Embassy. Georgia's security minister suggested the bombings were intended to "scare someone.".

- June 14, 2002: A Palestinian was killed after stabbing and wounding an Israeli at a gas station in the West Bank settlement of Kedumim. The Israeli opened fire and was joined by nearby soldiers.

- June 14, 2002: In Lebanon, the young daughter of a Palestinian official was injured in a bomb attack on his house in Sidon near the Ain al-Heleweh refugee camp. Abu Ali-Tanyus, chief of the Palestinian Liberation Army in charge of security at the camps, was not home at the time.

- June 15, 2002: Two Israelis were killed and two others were wounded in armed exchanges with Palestinians near Dugit. The al-Qassem Brigades claimed credit for inspiring the attack.

- June 15, 2002: In Kashmir, five members of one family were killed and another four were injured in an assault in the Balmatkote village. They belonged to minority community. Next, gunmen attacked a house in the Nagpattan village and murdered two Village Defense Committee members and one other person.

- June 15, 2002: In Kashmir, two grenades were fired at a Srinagar school during its inauguration at which Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farroq Abdullah was officiating. He escaped unharmed. An Islamic group calling itself al-Medina claimed responsibility.

Al-Medina is a little-known Kashmiri militant group responsible for several terrorist attacks in Indian-controlled Kashmir. The group's goals are Kashmiri accession to Islamic Pakistan and the withdrawal of all Indian forces from the region. In addition, the group seeks Islamic rule in the territory. They are one of many fronts for the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LT). Pakistani terrorists often use aliases or change names, generally in response to government proscription. Indian intelligence sources report that al-Medina, along with the groups Azam Jihad and al-Mansoorain, are fronts for LT. As further confirmation, several al-Medina attacks have been coordinated with Hezbul Mujahideen, Harakat-ul-Jihad-i-Islami, and al-Mansoorain.

In May 2006. al-Medina was one of several militant groups to call for a ban on cable broadcasting in the Kashmir region. In a joint statement, the groups threatened suicide attacks against television stations if broadcasts did not cease, and claimed that the programming was a "Zionist conspiracy to dissuade Muslim youth from Islam." Many stations bowed to the threats.

President Musharraf has stated that his government will crack down on terrorist organizations operating from Pakistan. However, in practice, he has done nothing but cause a few groups to change their names. In fact at his direction there has been a steady increase in the influxes of Islamic militants into Kashmir.

- June 15, 2002: In Kashmir, Islamic terrorists sponsored by Pakistan attacked a procession of Hindu pilgrims with guns and grenades in the Doda district. Three Hindus were killed and two were injured.

- June 17, 2002: An Israeli truck was hit by a mortar shell in the Neve Deqalim industrial zone. The Al-Qassem Brigades of HAMAS fired the projectile.

- June 17, 2002: In Pakistan, Sunni Muslims on motorcycles shot and killed three young people near a Shi'ite mosque in Imambargah.

- June 17, 2002: In Kashmir, Pakistani Muslims shot a Hindu man and his wife to death in Branwar Chadoora. Later in the day, the beheaded bodies of two people kidnapped the day before from their homes in Sidaw and Shopian were found tortured and mutilated.

- June 17, 2002: In Israel, an Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up outside the village of Mardza after he approached by Border Police. The bomber was killed, but no one else was injured.

- June 18, 2002: In Israel, 19 people were killed and 50 were injured when an Islamic suicide bomber blew himself up on an Egged bus traveling from Gilo into Jerusalem. HAMAS's terrorist wing al-Qassem Brigades claimed credit fro the mass murder and mutilation.

- June 18, 2002: In Chechnya, several local administrators were kidnapped by Muslim militants.

- June 18, 2002: In Kashmir, the body of a man kidnapped several days before was fished out of the Jhelum River.

- June 18, 2002: In Afghanistan, two rockets were launched at the center of Kabul where the Loya Jirga (grand tribal assembly) was being held to determine the make-up of the country's new government. The Ministry of Interior Affairs claimed to have reports that Islamic warlord Gulbuddin Hekmatyar's supporters were behind the attack.

- June 19, 2002: Palestinians fired shots and set off a bomb near a Border Policemen guarding construction work on the separation fence near Salem junction.

- June 19, 2002: Seven people were killed and 43 were injured, including two U.S. citizens, when a Fatah suicide bomber blew himself up at a crowded bus stop in the French Hill neighborhood of Jerusalem. The al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, the armed wing of Fatah, claimed responsibility.

- June 19, 2002: In Islamic Indonesia, the Muslim Free Aceh Movement was suspected in the murder of a village chief in Bireuen.

- June 19, 2002: In Kashmir, jihadists assassinated National Conference leader Abdul Rashid in Srinagar while he was waiting for the bus.

- June 19, 2002: In Turkey, a bomb exploded in the garden of a building in Istanbul.

- June 20, 2002: In Russia, a bomb packed with nuts and bolts went off inside an apartment building, killing one person and wounding a second.

- June 20, 2002: There were two explosions in Georgia just prior to a regularly scheduled meeting between Georgian authorities, Abkhaz separatists, Russian peacekeepers and UN observers. All sides accused each other of causing the explosions.

- June 20, 2002: Rachel Shabo, 40, and three of her sons, Neria, 16, Zvika, 12, and Avishai, 5, as well as a neighbor, Yosef Twito, 31, who came to their aid, were murdered when an Islamic savage (excuse the redundancy) entered their home in Itamar, south of Nablus, and opened fire. Two other children were injured, as well as two soldiers. The PFLP and Fatah's Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades claimed responsibility for the slaughter of innocent life.

To tolerate Islam is to be ignorant of Islam. To deceive on behalf of Islam is immoral. To be an advocate of Islam, as George W. Bush often is in his speeches, is treason.

- June 20, 2002: In Saudi Arabia, a British man was killed when his vehicle exploded on a road near the Riyadh residential compound where he lived. Simon Venesse, 35, had been living in the Saudi capital with his South African wife and their young son for four years, working as a market risk controller at the al-Bank al-Saudi al-Fransi. Saudi officials blame this bombing, as with the previous, on an alcohol-related turf war among the kingdom's expatriates. Others cite an indigenous problem with Islamist militants.

- June 21, 2002: An Israeli was wounded in a shooting incident near Netzarim.

- June 21, 2002: A bomb exploded in the Bebek neighborhood of Istanbul.

- June 22, 2002: In Kashmir, Muslim gunmen attacked the residential guard at the residence of Asifa Afrooza. Two policemen were injured in the shoot-out.

- June 22, 2002: In Indonesia, five workers at a state-owned palm oil plantation were shot and killed by Free Aceh Movement (Gerakan Aceh Merdeka or GAM) Islamic terrorists. Nine employees were abducted.

- June 23, 2002: In Kashmir, jihadists lobbed two grenades toward the Sher-i-Kashmir cricket stadium where a National Conference ceremony was taking place. Both al-Medina and Hizbul Mujahideen claimed credit for the attack on the assembly.

- June 23, 2002: In Turkey, bombs planted in front of the Surp Krikor Lusavoric Armenian Church went off in Istanbul. Two time bombs planted in different places exploded simultaneously.

- June 23, 2002: Five mortars were fired at the Qatif Bloc of settlements in Gaza over the course of the early morning.

- June 24, 2002: In Lebanon, a bomb destroyed the Mercedes belonging to Abd-al-Karim Shamayilah while it was parked near Sidon.

- June 24, 2002: In Ethiopia, the Oromo Liberation Front claimed responsibility for detonating a small bomb at the headquarters of the Ethiopian Railway Commission. OLF said the blast was in retaliation for the continuing harassment of Oromo students, merchants, and farmers by the Ethiopian government.

- June 24, 2002: In Kashmir, Pakistani Muslims attacked the house of a Hindu minister in Kupwara, injuring one person with a grenade and rifle fire.

- June 24, 2002: Eight mortars were fired into the Qatif Bloc of settlements by HAMAS.

- June 24, 2002: In Macedonia, a time bomb was discovered in the airport cargo area.

- June 24, 2002: In India, eight employees of an oil and gas company were killed in an ambush by militants of the Dima Halam Daoga tribal group in Assam.

- June 25, 2002: In Pakistan, the president of the National Democratic Party and former pro-Musharaf federal minister, Omar Asghar Khan, was killed in a shooting attack on his vehicle in Karachi.

- June 26, 2002: In Kashmir, Muslims assassinated a man in his house in Charsu. He had been a counter-insurgent several years ago. That same day, agroup of gunmen entered a house in Reshipora and assaulted its residents, killing the owner and his wife. The family had reportedly once harbored militants but had fallen under suspicion as collaborators after two Al-Badr militants were killed by security forces at the same house. That night, a former insurgent from Lidru Pahalgam was shot to death by militants in Sirigufwara.

- June 26, 2002: In Indonesia, nine athletes were abducted from their vehicle by Free Aceh Movement (GAM) rebels. The men were released by GAM on July 6th, with a statement that they were suspected of being spies.

- June 26, 2002: In Iraq, twenty people were injured when a bomb exploded in the Kurdish city of Arbil, near a restaurant and garden.

- June 26, 2002: In Thailand, a local campaign headquarters for the Chart Pattana Party was damaged in a grenade attack.

- June 27, 2002: In India, an explosion on a train in Jharkand injured 11 people.

- June 29, 2002: In Saudi Arabia, an American couple discovered a suspicious object attached to the underside of their car that was dragging along the road. They contacted the Saudi police, who removed it and confirmed that it was a bomb.

- June 30, 2002: In Pakistan, an Iranian Baloch leader was shot to death by six men who broke into his house in Quetta.

- June 30, 2002: A bomb exploded under a moving passenger train north of Lod in central Israel.

- June 30, 2002: In Saudi Arabia, a suspicious object was found attached to a Brit's car in Riyadh and safely removed by Saudi police. Though the British embassy later stated the object was not a bomb, media reports of its being "defused" contradict this.

- June 30, 2002: In Kashmir, the body of a man from Doda was found. He had been kidnapped by a group of militants from his house and was later shot to death. That night, police recovered the body of a retired teacher from a well in the Khour area of the Jammu district.

- June 30, 2002: In Kyrgyzstan, two Uighurs who were Kyrgyzstan citizens were killed along with the First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy and a companion who was also a Kyrgyzstan citizen. The perpetrators were from the East Turkestan Liberation Organization which was fighting to separate Xinjiang from China.

The East Turkistan Liberation Organization (ETLO) is one of several ethnic Uyghur groups operating in central Asia and the Chinese province of Xinjiang. The Uyghurs are Muslims of Turkic descent. They have had a tumultuous history with successive Chinese governments. Although the Uyghurs have at times enjoyed freedom of religion, their relationship to the current Communist regime in China has been rife with conflict.

The ETLO is an ally of the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement, an organization dedicated to the foundation of an Islamic State in Xinjiang. Although East Turkistan technically refers to the Chinese province of Xinjiang, many believe that these Uyghur militants are seeking to create an Islamic state that includes parts of Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Pakistan in addition to Xinjiang.

- June 30, 2002: In Indonesia, the Free Aceh Movement was blamed for destroying two electrical pylons in Aceh. GAM terrorists abducted nine crewmen from a boat that had been chartered by Exxon Mobil. The vessel was intercepted by two fishing boats off North Aceh.
