The word "Allah" means God and the word "Rab" means Lord. In the Arab world they are used by Muslims, Christians and Druzes to refer to God (we obviously don't use the English words God and Lord). "Allah" is not a name of a God - it literally means God. Take for example Iranian Muslims, they use the Persian word for God, "Khuda", and not "Allah", because their language is not Arabic. Whenever a non-Arab uses the word "Allah" to refer to God, they are using the Arabic word for God (in reference to the language of the Quran, Arabic, and not because they have to). Non-Arab Muslims can use their own language's word for God, it does not make a difference what word you use. Muslims do not think "Allah" is a spirit or a distinct God for Muslims only. Muslims believe God is the God of Muhammad and all the other Prophets like Moses and Jesus. You do not have to agree with them, but you should know what they mean by "Allah". I am a Christian Lebanese and I use the words "Allah" and "Rab" to refer to God/Lord and so do all Christians, Muslims and Druzes here (Arab world). We all mean to say God when we say "Allah". I know this is confusing for non-Arabs, it is almost the same thing with the (male) name Abdallah. If you look at pre-Islamic Arabia, this name was used by pagan Arabs, and nowadays Arab Christians, Muslims and Druzes use the name because we consider it to be an Arabic name (and not an Islamic one, like non-Arabs think).

I am emailing regarding the information you offer on your website. I would simply like to mention that I am a practising Muslim who does not support terrorist behaviour because my interpretation of the Qur'an does not allow it. Just because the messages in your Feedback section were written by Muslims doesn't mean they're examples of Islam at work, as I can assure you that any true Muslim would be concentrating too much on Allah to be offended to the extent that those people were. The Qur'an, just like any other religious book, can be interpreted in different ways depending on cultural differences and other factors, and some translations may be more forceful in nature than others. Islam is not, in itself, a forceful religion and true Muslims are not terrorists, as they are taught to believe that Christians and Jews are our brothers; "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews, not just Muslims. Historically, when Islam was a new religion, the three faiths, Christianity, Judiasm and Islam were together in harmony and I admit it was a Christian who protected prophet Muhammad when Mecca threatened death upon him. In summary, I understand your rights to free speech and in no way intend to supress them. I also do not wish death upon you, but I feel that the information offered on your website and in some of the books that you are advertising is in itself false, as phrases such as "all" and "every good Muslim" are far too general in nature and is neither a mature nor a suitable method to use in persuading people against Islam. Your books create arguments that are nearly impossible to prove, and this is not coming from an Islamic perspective but simply from a basic, Western world, persuasive-writing perspective.

I just started reading your page today 10/21/06 and was ok until i came across this article here. I don't know where you live..but i am close to where this family lived....and i saw the two murderers of this family..and they are NOT MUSLIMS...!!!they were two people without faith or fear of God...One spanish and the other white caucasion..male both looking to rob a home to feed their drug habbits.....I KNOW FOR A FACT.... THIS WERE NOT MUSLIMS FROM ANY WHERE..EYGPT,PAKISTAN,SAUDI ARABIA,WHAT EVER...I AM FROM USA AND I LIVE CLOSE TO THAT FAMILY,PLEASE CORRECT THAT...TRY TO GO BACK TO YOUR FACT FINDER....AND CORRECT THIS HUGE MISTAKE..I DON'T MEAN TO SOUND DEFENSIVE BUT JUST IS JUST..PLEASE...I AM NOT ARAB IM SPANISH,AMERICAN MUSLIM TRYING TO SEARCH THE TRUTH AND CONTRIDICTIONS I DO NOT LIKE THE SUNNAH'S OF ISLAM THIS IS WHY I WAS SEARCHING FOR SOME ANSWERS ONLY TO FIND THIS INFORMATION...I AM SCARED NOW BECAUSE I WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH AND FALSE HOOD OF ANYTHING NOW.....AND I AM SICK OF EVERTHING...FROM EVERYONE...SUNI'S WANTS TO RIGHT SHIA'S WANTS TO BE RIGHT.
