Iraq War - Fighting a War without Identifying the Enemy
11/19/2006
- March 2, 2004: Muslims used simultaneous suicide bombings to murder more than 158 Iraqis, wounding 500 more in Baghdad and Karbala. For reasons only known to Allah, this was the holiest Shiite day of the year. It was the deadliest day since President Bush declared an end to combat operations on May 1st, 2003.Three suicide bombers detonated explosives around the al-Kadamiya mosque in Baghdad, and a fourth was apprehended before his device exploded. One suicide bomber was discovered in Karbala and explosives were found alongside a road outside the city, along with mortar rounds.Ahmed al-Haelali, a judge in Karbala in charge of investigating the explosions, said he believes nine suicide bombers were responsible for the strikes in his city. He showed small ball bearings, nails and springs retrieved from the bombing sites. The judge said these materials indicated to him that suicide bombers were responsible. The attacks came as thousands of Muslim worshippers of the Satanic wannabe god Allah jammed the streets to attend festivals marking Ashura, the most important holy day on the Shiite Muslim calendar. What's interesting here is that Ashura is the name of the pagan lunar deity worshiped by the Assyrians.Shiites from Iraq, as well as pilgrims from the largely Shiite nation of Iran, traveled to both cities to mark the day, the 10th day of the month of Muharram. It is the period when Ali's (Muhammad's adopted son and son in law) son al-Hussein, grandson of the prophet Muhammad, died at the hand of fellow Muslims 13 centuries ago. In the Ashura ceremony, Shiites flog their bodies to identify with the suffering of the martyr Hussein. In Karbala, video showed dozens of bodies, many dismembered and burned beyond recognition, and many others wounded. Police said they believe five suicide bombers may have slipped through a tight security cordon before the end of the Ashura festivals, and caused a series of up to nine explosions. Police broke up an angry demonstration after the blasts blaming the United States for the carnage. (I'm surprised they didn't blame Jews for their own behavior too.)In Baghdad, police said pilgrims had filled the streets of a neighborhood for the religious ceremony when the attacks took place. At least one explosion detonated in al-Kadamiya mosque, killing a number of people, including women and children, the mosque's imam said. Grenade fragments were found in the mosque's courtyard, and authorities said there is a strong indication improvised explosive devices and grenades were behind that blast. Initially, authorities said they thought rockets hit the mosque. The mosque's imam blamed foreigners, saying Iraqis would never conduct such attacks. (But yet they did.) He criticized the U.S. military for not providing adequate security, but the Army disputed that assertion. Angry pilgrims began throwing stones at Iraqi police and U.S. soldiers. The U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council declared a three-day mourning period. As a result, the signing of an interim Iraqi constitution that had been set for Wednesday was be delayed. Governing Council member Adnan Pachachi accused "terrorist and evildoers," also known as good Muslims of "trying to destabilize the country through sectarian (which means religious) strife." It is what Islam does best.In Washington, White House spokesman Scott McClellan condemned "these brutal terrorist attacks in strongest terms" but then mislabeled their source and cause by speculating that the perpetrators were "remnants of the former regime and foreign terrorists" who "are enemies of freedom." He had the enemies of freedom part right but didn't understand why. Paul Bremer, the top U.S. civilian administrator in Iraq, said the attacks were committed "to provoke sectarian (it's amazing these people can't say "religious") violence among Muslims." Religious violence is what defines Muslims, Paul. It was how and why Islam was created by Muhammad. The devastating strikes come weeks after the coalition found a letter apparently written by Zarqawi to al Qaeda in Afghanistan calling for strikes against Shiites to keep the insurgency alive and taking credit for other attacks. "One of the chief suspects in this would be Zarqawi because the techniques and methods were similar to those of other terror attacks," an American official said not recognizing that suicide bombings were the hallmark of Islam, not al-Qaeda.In London, British Prime Minister Tony Blair used this terrorist act where Muslims mass murdered Muslims to say that there was no "clearer sign of the struggle between good and evil." Well, he was half right.- March 2, 2004: In a separate attack Tuesday in Baghdad, a U.S. soldier was killed and another seriously wounded when an improvised explosive device was thrown at their vehicle.- March 14, 2004: In one of the most revolting acts of inhuman barbarism perpetrated by uncivilized Muslims in Iraq, four American security guards were murdered and mutilated in Fallujah. Their nude, burned, beaten, and severed bodies were dragged through the streets as Muslim women poked sticks at them, as Muslim children cheered and danced around them, and as Muslim men shot automatic weapons into the air in gleeful celebration. After these demonic degenerates had had their fun, they hung what remained of the Americans from a bridge leading into town and held a party beneath their remains. If nothing else, these Muslim demonstrated that Islam is a cancerous curse which destroys the conscience of those it infects. Muhammad's behavior, like his religion and god, is immoral and uncivilized. It corrupts and destroys everything it touches. If you care enough to understand this menace to society go to the "Two Days in Fallujah" link at www.ProphetOfDoom.net and examine the photos. While some, those who have not read Prophet of Doom, and are thus ignorant of Islam, may say that it is unfair to condemn the religion based upon the behavior of a few frustrated souls, I have two responses. First, open your eyes, make the connection, and do the math. Twenty percent of the world's people are perpetrating 95% of the known terrorist acts. Even if you are opposed to learning the truth about Islam and condemning its perverted prophet, demonic god, and deceitful scriptures, this correlation should be more than sufficient to become intolerant of the creed which continues to sponsor such hateful and ruthless behavior.I said "known acts" earlier in reference to Muslims perpetrating 95% of the world's terrorist atrocities because the actual percentage is closer to 99%. The mass annihilation of non-Muslim civilian populations in places like the Sudan, Somalia, Algeria, and Armenia aren't counted in the totals because, with Islam's ban on free speech, there are no journalists in these places. The second reason it is appropriate to implicate Islam in the attack against these four Americans in Fallujah is because it was orchestrated by the second highest ranking Shi'ite cleric in the land, the Iranian backed Al Sadr. The men who murdered and mutilated these men came from Al Sadr's mosque just as the men who murdered 3,000 Americans on 9/11 came out of the Al Qod mosque. The Imam's message was the same. It is for all Muslims, and it is preached in every mosque. Listen as they read verses from the 8th surah of the Qur'an. "The Spoils of War: Allah has sent you from your homes to fight for the Cause. Allah wished to confirm the truth by his words: wipe the Infidels out to the last. I shall fill the hearts of the Infidels with terror! So smite them on their necks and every joint, and incapacitate them, for they are opposed to Allah and His Apostle. Whoever opposes Us should know that Allah is severe in retribution. The Infidels will taste the torment of Hell. So when you meet them in battle do not retreat, for all who turn away from fighting will bring the wrath of Allah on themselves and their abode will be Hell. It was not you who killed them, but Allah who did so. You did not throw what you threw. Allah did to bring out the best in the faithful. So, fight them till all opposition ends and Islam is the only religion.".Allah wants infidels "wiped out and terrorized." That makes war and terror mainstream Islam. And Allah was just getting warmed up. "If you meet them in battle, inflict such a defeat as would be a lesson for those who come after them, that they may be warned. Surely the Infidels cannot get away. Prepare against them whatever arms and cavalry you can muster, that you may terrorize the enemies of Allah." This is what happened in Fallujah and why.Reading Allah's orders out of the Qur'an's 8th surah, imams in Hamburg, Germany's Al Qod mosque preach the same message Al Sadr infected his killers with: "O Prophet, urge the faithful to fight. If there are twenty among you with determination they will vanquish two hundred; if there are a hundred then they will kill a thousand Infidels, for they are a people devoid of understanding." This is the math of terror. It is possible because infidels are ignorant of Islam. And in case you were wondering, the Qur'an defines "Infidels" in the 5th surah. "They are surely Infidels who say Christ, the Messiah is God." (Qur'an 5:72).So as not to be accused of unfairly singling out a less-than-peaceful surah from the Qur'an, listen to how Allah recruits suicide bombers in the 4th surah: "Those who barter their life in this world for the next should fight in the way of Allah; whether he is killed or victorious, a glorious reward awaits." "Urge the believers to fight...to keep back the might of the Infidels." "Seize them and kill them wherever they are." "Muslims who sit idle are not equal to those who fight in Allah's Cause with their wealth and lives. Allah has exalted those who fight for Islam.".If the endless rant and demented threats were all that there was to the Qur'an, you could ignore Allah's foolishness. But I'm afraid I have some very bad news. The Qur'an's last twenty-four surahs chronologically, those revealed in Medina, are a call to arms. They are merciless. In them Allah says things like: "The Messenger and those who believe with him, strive hard and fight with their wealth and lives in Allah's Cause." (Qur'an 9:88) "Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, torture them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war." (Qur'an 9:5) "The Believers fight in Allah's Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed." (Qur'an 9:112) "Fight those who do not believe until they all surrender, paying the protective tax in submission." (Qur'an 9:29) As horrible as that sounds, it gets worse. Allah claims personal responsibility for terrorism, mass murder, enslaving women and children, deception, and thievery. The Islamic Sira, or biography of Muhammad, proclaims: "Our onslaught will not be a weak faltering affair. We shall fight as long as we live. We will fight until you turn to Islam, humbly seeking refuge. We will fight not caring whom we meet. We will fight whether we destroy ancient holdings or newly gotten gains. We have mutilated every opponent. We have driven them violently before us at the command of Allah and Islam. We will fight until our religion is established. And we will plunder them, for they must suffer disgrace." (Ishaq:587).Do you want more proof? Are the deeds perpetrated by one of the most respected Qur'anic scholars and the words of Islam's prophet and god insufficient? Then consider this quote from the Saudi ruling family's favorite imam, al Buraik. Prior to a telethon hosted to enrich the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, this esteemed Islamic cleric said, "I am against America. She is the root of all evils and wickedness on earth. Muslims, don't take Jews and Christians as allies. Muslim brothers, do not have any mercy or compassion on them, their blood, their money, or their flesh. Their women are yours to take, legitimately. Allah made them yours. Why don't you enslave their women? Why don't you wage jihad? Why don't you pillage them?".None of this was his opinion or even his interpretation of Islam. Sorry, every word of his sermon comes right out of the Qur'an and Hadith. The Saudi, German, and Iraqi imams haven't corrupted Islam, but they are using Islam to corrupt. Here is how they do it: "Allah said, ‘A prophet must slaughter before collecting captives. A slaughtered enemy is driven from the land. Muhammad, you craved the desires of this world, its goods and the ransom captives would bring. But Allah desires killing them to manifest the religion.'" (Ishaq:327).The Iraqi, Saudi, and German imams correctly interpreted Allah's message. "The Prophet had their men killed, their children and woman taken captive." (Bukhari:V5B59N512) "Allah made the Jews leave their homes by terrorizing them so that you killed some and made many captive. And He made you inherit their lands, their homes, and their wealth. He gave you a country you had not traversed before." (Qur'an 33:26).Eighty percent of the mosques in America and the West were built and are staffed by the Saud warlords using OPEC funds. They also provide their terrorist manufacturing facilities with their reading material. The official Qur'an for the English speaking market bears the stamp of the Fahd Foundation. In it, right below Qur'an 2:190 , the Qur'an's first mention of jihad, you'll find this passage: "Jihad is holy fighting in Allah's Cause with full force of numbers and weaponry. It is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars. By Jihad, Islam is established, Allah's Word is made superior, which means only Allah has the right to be worshiped, and Islam is propagated. By abandoning Jihad, Islam is destroyed and Muslims fall into an inferior position; their honor is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish. Jihad is an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape from this duty, dies with one of the qualities of a hypocrite." Since this all came out of the Qur'an's 9th surah, the Islamic god just said that peaceful Muslims were hypocrites - someone who gives a false impression and who acts inconsistently with their proclaimed beliefs. There is nothing peaceful about Islam. Muhammad's dogma breeds ruthless killers. At his direction Muslims will continue to terrorize the world until there are no more non-Muslims. So that you might know what Islam does to men, I have organized 2,000 Islamic scriptures by topic in the "Muhammad's Own Words" appendix of Prophet of Doom. Here are some excerpts from the Fighting, Terrorism, War, and Jihad sections that shed light on what happened in Fallujah: "Allah and Muhammad humiliated every coward and made our religion victorious. We were glorified and destroyed them all. By what our Apostle recites from the Book and by our swift horses, I liked the punishment the infidels received. Killing them was sweeter than drink. We galloped among them panting for the spoil. With our loud-voiced army, the Apostle's squadron advanced into the fray." (Ishaq:576)."The Prophet said at the conquest of Mecca: ‘There is no migration now, but only Jihad, fighting for the Cause of Islam. When you are asked to set out on a Jihad expedition, you should readily do so.'" (Muslim:C20B1N4597)."Surely Allah loves those who fight in His Cause." (Qur'an 61:4)."I am fighting in Allah's service. This is piety and a good deed. In Allah's war I do not fear as others should. For this fighting is righteous, true, and good." (Ishaq:300)."Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah alone or pay us the Jizyah tribute tax in submission. Our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says: ‘Whoever amongst us is killed as a martyr shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever survives shall become your master.'" (Bukhari:V4B53N386)."When you clash with the unbelieving Infidels in battle (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause), smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom (them based upon what benefits Islam) until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by Allah to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam." (Qur'an 47:4)."It was so criminal, men could hardly imagine it. Muhammad was ennobled because of the bloody fighting. I swear we shall never lack soldiers nor army leaders. Driving before us infidels until we subdue them with a halter above their noses and a branding iron. We will drive them to the ends of the earth. We will pursue them on horse and on foot. We will never deviate from fighting in our cause. Any people that disobey Muhammad will pay for it. If you do not surrender to Islam, then you will live to regret it. You will be shamed in Hell, forced to wear a garment of molten pitch forever!" (Ishaq:315)."Killing disbelievers is a small matter to us." (Tabari IX:69)."The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Prophet and perpetrate mischief [reject Islam or oppose its goals] in the land, is to murder them, to hang them, to mutilate them cutting off an arm and leg on opposite sides, or banish them. Such is their disgrace. They will not escape the fire, suffering constantly." (Qur'an 5:33) The four Americans in Fallujah were murdered by Muslims in accordance with the Qur'an. They were mutilated and hung.Equipped with this information, you may form some important conclusions. Islamic politicos and clerics are purposely deceiving us. The truth isn't hidden, nor is it hard to find. Our media is clueless, willfully ignorant. And the cost is high. Good Muslims will continue to wage Jihad until we stop them by eliminating their means and motivation. If we don't, they will kill us.Although Al Sadr's Muslim militia confessed to the Fallujah murders, an although the president of the United States committed to holding Al Sadr accountable, the U.S. negotiated truces and granted clemency to the Islamic cleric and his band of jihadists. Today, Al Sadr's goons continue to hunt down and kill Sunni Muslims and Americans alike. The media terms "sectarian violence" and "Iraqi militias" are used to describe the Shi'ite Mujahideen who kill and terrorize on behalf of Al Sadr. That is not to say that they are acting alone, there are Sunni terrorists killing Shi'ites as well.As was the case in Vietnam, Americans are not caught in the midst of an Iraqi civil war. It is impossible for U.S. soldiers to tell who is grateful for their presence and who wants to kill them. All we know for sure is that 80% of Iraqis think that killing American soldiers is justified, and for that reason alone, the nation's troops should not be there. In fact, the moment the American president elected to pardon Al Sadr and his men rather than hold them accountable for murdering these young men, the nation should have revolted against their lying and immoral leader. For two days, the world has witnessed the face of terror in Fallujah. Yet most remain unwilling to acknowledge its cause. No political dogma or personality cult in all of human history has been sadistic enough to cause men to celebrate murder and mutilation. Only one thing can do that - Islam.Footage from AP News showed one man beating a corpse with a metal pole. Others tied a cord to one of the bodies, attached it to a car and drove it down a street, surrounded by a cheering crowd. Another reporter saw photographed two blackened bodies hanging from a bridge. Said one eyewitness, "The people of Fallujah hanged some of the bodies on the old bridge like slaughtered sheep."The news captions that accompanied the photographs taken on this day read: "An Iraqi man looks at a sport utility vehicle on fire after an attack in the restive town of Fallujah on March 31, 2004. Insurgents attacked two cars and set them on fire, burning several passengers and dragging one body outside, dancing around it and making the victory sign, witnesses said."Another reported: "Iraqis mutilated a burnt body of a dead man believed to be a US citizen who was inside a car attacked in Fallujah. Furious Iraqis hacked up the charred bodies of two people, believed to be foreign civilians, and hung the remains from a bridge after their car was ambushed, saying this rebellious Iraqi town would be the ‘cemetery' of US-led occupation forces."A contemporaneous report read: "An Iraqi used a shovel to hit a dead man while another kicked his burning car following an attack in Fallujah. Gunmen opened fire on two four-wheel-drive cars, killing at least some of the occupants and setting the vehicles ablaze. Iraqi youths cheered in front of the burning vehicle."Demonstrating that the terrorist attack was premeditated, we discover: "An Iraqi boy held a leaflet saying ‘Fallujah, the cemetery of the Americans,' near the burning car. A previously unknown group claimed the gruesome killing of four US contractors in Fallujah, Iraq, was in revenge for Israel's assassination of HAMAS leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin." It was later learned that Iranian financed Islamic cleric Al-Sadr was responsible for these murders and mutilations.Another reporter wrote: "Iraqis danced near a burning car in the flashpoint town of Fallujah. US overseer in Iraq Paul Bremer vowed that the grisly killing of four civilian contractors will ‘not go unpunished,' amid reactions of horror at images of the burning and dismemberment of the Americans." Ah, but they did...Lastly we find: "Iraqis celebrated on top of the wrecked car they attacked in Fallujah. A crowd of cheering Iraqis dragged charred and mutilated bodies through the streets of the town. The burned and dismembered corpses were later hung from a bridge."- April 4, 2004: It was a death that made a difference. Army Spc. Casey Austin Sheehan, a 24-year-old from Vacaville, California and a member of the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, based in Fort Hood, Texas, was killed along with seven others when his unit was lured into and ambush and attacked my the Shiite militia of al-Sadr firing rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms in Sadr City, Iraq. The U.S. Army says that it is investigating the circumstances that lead to Casey's death and that of seven fellow soldiers. But why? The answer is clear. The Shiite Muslims who now control Iraq killed Casey because Islam is a declaration of war against all mankind. The very people George Bush went to Iraq to liberate had become the enemy.Fortunately Casey's mother didn't quietly accept her son's heroic, yet needless death. Cindy Sheehan has become the most outspoken parent against the war that killed her son. The group demands an immediate and personal apology by the Bush Administration to all those whose lives have been damaged by this war, beginning with those families in the U.S., in Iraq and around the world who have lost loved ones as a result of this war based on lies. Furthermore, funds must be made available to assist families whose loved ones have been killed or wounded physically or psychologically by this war based on lies. Finally, Military Families Speak Out demands an immediate end to the war and the return of U.S. troops to their home duty stations.Through their grief, military families who have suffered unbearable loss say: ‘not one more family should suffer what we have suffered, for a war that should never have happened, for a war based on lies.' Cindy Sheenan wrote the following open letter. While I do not share her political sentiments we are in full agreement when it comes to exposing the scum which infects the White House."AN OPEN LETTER TO GEORGE BUSH
November 4, 2004
Dear George,You don't mind if I call you George do you? When you sent me a letter offering your condolences on the death of my son, Spc. Casey Austin Sheehan, in the illegal and unjust war on Iraq, you called me Cindy, so I naturally assume we are on a first name basis.George, it has been seven months today since your reckless and wanton foreign policies killed my son, my big boy, my hero, my best-friend: Casey. It has been seven months since your ignorant and arrogant lack of planning for the peace murdered my oldest child. It has been two days since your dishonest campaign stole another election...but you all were way more subtle this time than in 2000, weren't you? You hardly had to get the Supreme Court of the United States involved at all this week. You feel so proud of yourself for betraying the country again, don't you? You think you are very clever because you pulled the wool over the eyes of some of the people again. You think that you have some mandate from God...that you can "spend your political capital" any way that you want. George you don't care or even realize that 56,000,000 plus citizens of this country voted against you and your agenda. Still, you are going to continue your ruthless work of being a divider and not a uniter. George, in 2000 when you stole that election and the Democrats gave up, I gave up too. I had the most ironic thought of my life then: ‘Oh well, how much damage can he do in four years?' Well, now I know how much you have damaged my family, this country, and this world. If you think I am going to allow you another four years to do even more damage, then you truly are mistaken. I will fight for a true vote count and if that fails, your impeachment. Also, the impeachment of your Vice President. The only thing is, I'm not politically savvy, and I don't have a Karl Rove to plan my strategy, but I do have a big mouth and a righteous cause, which still mean something in this country, I hope. All of this lying, fooling, and betraying must be "hard work" George. You really think you know what hard work is?George, let me tell you what "hard work" really is.Hard work is seeing your oldest son, your brave and honorable man-child go off to a war that had, and still has, no basis in reality. Hard work is worrying yourself gray and not being able to sleep for 2 weeks because you don't know if your child is safe.Hard work is seeing your son's murder on CNN one Sunday evening while you're enjoying the last supper you'll ever truly enjoy again.Hard work is having three military officers come to your house a few hours later to confirm the aforementioned murder of your son...your first born...your kind and gentle sweet baby.Hard work is burying your child 46 days before his 25th birthday. Hard work is holding your other three children as they lower the body of their big "baba" into the ground. Hard work is not jumping in the grave with him and having the earth cover you both. But, Dear George, do you know what the hardest work of all is? Trying to digest the fact that the leader of the country that your family has fought for and died for, for generations, lied to you and betrayed your dear boy's sense of honor and exploited his courage and exploited his loyalty to his buddies. Hard work is having your country abandon you after they killed your son. Hard work is coming to the realization that your son had his future robbed from him and that you have had your son's future and future grand-children stolen from you. Hard work is knowing that there are so many people in this world that have prospered handsomely from your son's death.George, I must confess that I and my family worked very HARD to re-defeat you this time, but you refuse to stay defeated. Well, we are watching you very carefully. We are going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for misleading the American people into a disastrous war and for mis-using and abusing your power as Commander-in-Chief. We are going to scream until our last breath to bring the rest of our babies home from this quagmire of a war that you have gotten our country in to: before too many more families learn the true meaning of Hard Work. We know it is going to be an uphill battle, knowing how Republican Congress is, but thanks to you, we know the meaning of Hard Work and we're not afraid of hard work at all.The 56,000,000 plus citizens who voted against you and your agenda have given me a mandate to move forward with my agenda. Also, thanks to you and your careless domestic policies, I am unemployed, so this will be my full-time job. Being your political downfall will be the most noble accomplishment of my life and it will bring justice for my son and 1125 (so far) other brave Americans and tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis your lies have killed. By the way, George, how many more innocent Iraqis are your policies going to kill before you convince them that you are better than Saddam? How many more of their cities are you going to level before you consider that they are liberated? If you really had any moral values, or if you were an honorable man at all you would resign. My son was a man who had high moral values and true courage. Humanity lost a bright light on April 04, 2004. I will live the rest of my life missing Casey desperately. Thank you for that, George. Have a nice day.God Bless America!! We surely need it!
Cindy SheehanBroken hearted mother of a True American Hero: Spc Casey Austin Sheehan, KIA 04/04/04 Sadr City, Baghdad‘When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall - think of it, always.' - Gandhi"
On Saturday October 2, 2004, Cindy Sheenan took part in a peace march in Washington, DC along with members of Military Families Speak Out. The march began with a rally at the Women's Monument in Arlington National Cemetery. The constructed mock coffins and carried them from Arlington to the White House. The rally at the park in front of the White House was very emotional. Among the speakers were Arum Gandhi who is the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi and Michael Berg, the father of Nicholas Berg who was beheaded in Iraq in April. Also speaking were MFSO members Celeste Zappala who lost her son Sherwood Baker on 4/26/04, Elaine Johnson whose son Darius Jennings was killed in Iraq on 11/02/03 and Lila Lipscomb who lost her son Michael Pederson in Iraq on 4/02/03. Lila was the mother featured in Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 9/11.At the conclusion of the speeches an attempt was made to deliver a box with the names of the fallen soldiers to the White House. A barrier had been erected that morning and approximately 100 guards were lined up behind it. Ten mounted guards were in place behind them. Military Families Speak Out respectfully requested that they be allowed to deliver the names of those who had been killed in Iraq to the White House. Twenty-eight family members of those who had been killed crossed the barrier and were arrested. Among those arrested were Bill Mitchell who lost his son Michael Mitchell in Iraq on 04/04/04 and Michael Berg whose son Nicholas Berg was beheaded in Iraq on 04/07/04. Is this a great country or what?As you consider what you have read and will read next, please notice that Bill Mitchell, the father of Sgt. Michael Mitchell, signed the MFSO press release and he was one of those arrested at the White House. Bill's son not only died alongside Cindy Sheehan's son, Sgt. Mitchell was the man to whom Casey would say: "Where my chief goes, I go."Here is what we know about Casey Sheenan. It comes mostly from a GI who served with him. While it was not the soldier's intent, his review of the circumstances surrounding Casey's death does a better job of disclosing why America shouldn't be in Iraq than anything ever written.Casey was a devout Catholic, an altar boy, and an Eagle Scout. He enlisted in the Army when he was 20-years-old. He underwent Combat Lifesaving training and became certified to treat battle-related injuries in the field. Casey Sheehan re-enlisted in 2004. As a trained Humvee mechanic, he was soon sent into Iraq with the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment. On April 3rd, 2004, the civilian Muslim militia of Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, the religious cleric George Bush had pardoned for his murder and mutilation of four Americans in Fallujah two weeks earlier on March 14th, stormed police stations and government offices in Sadr City (a two million population portion of Baghdad). The Muslims did so in hopes of luring Americans into an urban ambush.Muqtada Sadr had his men worked into a religious frenzy. His militia, known as the Mahdi Mujahideen (Holy Warriors of the Guided One) were prepared to kill. It is what they did best.American forces took the bait and quickly surrounded Muqtada al-Sadr's headquarters. But citing religious sensibilities, they did nothing. So the following day, the Shi'ite cleric's Mahdi militia went to work again. They blocked roadways and bridges with burning tires, blown-up vehicles, and trash. The Americans, unwilling to acknowledge that the Shiite government they had empowered in Iraq was the enemy, foolishly went into Sadr City again to clean up the cleric's mess.Visibility was low due to the smoke of burning tires, cars, and rubbish. In the confusion Muslim militants began to attack American vehicles which had come to patrol the area and protect Shia worshipers (Holy Arbayeen).Soon a battle was raging across Sadr City. Muslims assaulted American troops while looters pilfered shops and angry mobs paraded through the streets. The platoon assigned to protect the Shia on their way to and from their mosque radioed for help.Soldiers of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment were ambushed with rocket-propelled grenades and then pinned down when Muslims began shooting automatic weapons from the windows and rooftops above them. Good men were dying. Commander Volesky, in the middle of the chaos, called for assistance.A QRF (Quick Reaction Force) was formed of volunteers. Their mission would be to go out into the city and rescue Americans from the Muslims who were trying to kill them.Casey Sheehan's Sergeant Michael Mitchell asked for volunteers. Casey, who had just returned from Mass, said he would go. He proclaimed: "Where my Chief goes, I go." Also volunteering were Steve Hiller, Israel Garza, Forest Jostes, Bob Arsiaga, and Yihjyh "Eddie" Chen. The QRF dashed off to Sadr City. Entering the area under siege, the Mahdi militia wreaked havoc on them. In search of their friends they entered a dead-end street, channeled to their doom by a series of strategically placed barricades. The rooftops above them were bristling with snipers and men firing RPGs. Burning tires were thrown behind the QRF and then on them. With their exit blocked al-Sadr's (the second highest ranking Muslim in Iraq) Mahdi militia relentlessly pounded the Americans. It was a massacre.Casey Sheehan's and Forest Jostes' Humvee was hit with multiple rocket-propelled grenades and a barrage of automatic-weapons fire. Forest Jostes and Casey Sheehan were both killed. Others who died with them on Palm Sunday were Robert Arsiaga, Ahmed Cason, Yihjyh Chen, Steve Hiller, Israel Garza, and Michael Mitchell. In the aftermath of the bloodbath, the United States, acknowledging Muqtada al-Sadr's religious standing, put the second highest ranking Shiite in Iraq on a do not capture and do not kill list which is still in effect. The Imam has been at the end of American gun barrels three times since but in this war good men die and bad ones are empowered. It's a shame that the media didn't have the wisdom or courage to report the truth about who killed Casey Sheehan and why. And I suppose they didn't tell this story because if they had everyone would recognize the obvious. America's invasion of Iraq empowered a ruthless anti-American regime of Shiite clerics. Good men died courageously making a bad situation worse. But then again, the same ignorant patriotic mindset that caused Americans to stay in Vietnam until 55,000 soldiers had died for nothing is a hard nut to crack. Let me share an example. On the web page which details the way Casey Sheehan died and explicitly explains who killed him, we find this little ditty:"Where my chief goes, I go." That kind of loyalty and courage is what sets American military folk apart from every other military on earth, now and forever. Casey Sheehan is one of many, many heroes who line up for work every day over there in hell... God bless and reward him forever, and I'll not forget his name.Cindy - I think I can forget THAT name... I just have to stop reading the papers and watching TV... heh heh.My wife and I are considering a trip to Crawford this Saturday, to join that anti-protest protest convoy that's headed here to Texas from California... If we go, I'll take Canon + long lens, and maybe even video, and maybe I'll have something fun to post somewhere.DaveHouston"
They say that you can't fix stupid but what about a broken moral compass.Another misguided soul wrote: "Casey's mom is mentally ill, only partly because of Casey's death. She's been used up and thrown away by the Left (who claim to be more compassionate). Casey died defending American ideals. I grieve that he died and Michael Moore still uses air."Mahdi" means Messiah, just so you know..."Casey died trying to rescue his comrades who were being killed by Muslims. He was not defending American ideals. I despise Michael Moore's politics but I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 anyway. Moore uses George Bush's own words to hang him. Also, "Mahdi" doesn't mean Messiah. It means "the guided one." Muslims are awaiting the arrival of a militaristic religious and political leader who will unite Muslims in a final battle against Christians and Jews in the last days. Hizballah calls itself the Mahdi Mujahideen. The death squads which have murdered 2.7 million Africans in the Sudan kills under the same name. This belief in the Mahdi as a "poligious" general/imam is common to all Muslims. It is tied to the prediction of the Twelfth Imam called al-Muntazar, or the awaited, and to the establishment of a universal Caliphate by way of world war. If you know Biblical prophecy, you will recognize the Mahdi as Gog, the leader of the Magog Federation of Islamic states which attack Israel during the Tribulation. Gog will be from Turkey but his headquarters will be in a united Iran/Iraq. How convenient. That is what George Bush's war has done.A better informed American added these comments to the webpage describing how Casey Sheehan died: "Yes, Sheehan and his mates were killed by al-Sadr's militants. The same forces who now have a legitimate voice in shaping the new Iraq constitution, complete with having Islam the highest law. So, in effect, Sheehan was killed by the same gang that is now helping Iraq turn into a theocratic state allied with Iran. Way to go, America. You sent your kids to die to help turn Iraq into a fundamentalist Islamic state."- April 5, 2004: Supporters of anti-American Islamic cleric and mass murderer, Muqtada al-Sadr, rioted in four Iraqi cities today, killing eight US troops and one Salvadoran soldier in the worst unrest since the spasm of looting and arson immediately after the fall of Saddam Hussein. The rioters, following a hatful tirade from the Iranian-backed fundamentalist Shi'ite Muslim cleric reacted angrily to the previous day's arrest on murder charges of one of al-Sadr's aides, Mustafa al-Yacoubi. They were also angry over the closure of a pro-al-Sadr newspaper.Resulting fighting in the Baghdad neighborhood of Sadr City killed seven U.S. soldiers and wounded at least 24, the military said in a written statement. A resident said two Humvees were seen burning in the neighborhood, and that some American soldiers had taken refuge in a building. The military said the fighting erupted after members of a militia loyal to al-Sadr took control of police stations and government buildings.Protesters clashed with Italian and British forces in other cities in a broad, violent challenge to the US-led coalition, raising questions about its ability to stabilize Iraq. With less than three months left before the turn over of Iraq to Iraqis, the US occupation administrator appointed an Iraqi defense minister and chief of national intelligence. Paul Bremer said, "These organizations will give Iraqis the means to defend their country against terrorists and insurgents" That clearly wasn't true.About three miles outside Najaf, supporters of al-Sadr opened fire on the Spanish garrison during a street protest that drew about 5,000 people. The protesters were angry over the arrest of the cleric's aide for murder. The attackers opened fire at about noon. The Spanish and Salvadoran soldiers inside the garrison fired back, and assailants later regrouped in three clusters outside the base as the shooting continued for several hours. Two soldiers, a Salvadoran and an American, died and nine Salvadoran soldiers were wounded. More than 200 Iraqis were wounded, said Falah Mohammed, director of the Najaf health department. At least 22 people were killed. The Shi'ite protesters were upset over the detention of al-Yacoubi, al-Sadr's aid. They oppose the US-led occupation of Iraq and seem to enjoy murder and mutilation. Shi'ites compose about 60 percent of Iraq's 25 million people.Al-Yacoubi was detained yesterday on charges of murdering Abdel-Majid al-Khoei, a senior Shi'ite cleric who returned to Iraq after the US-led invasion. In central Baghdad's Firdaus Square, police fired warning shots during a protest by hundreds of al-Sadr supporters against al-Yacoubi's arrest. In Kufa, near Najaf, al-Sadr supporters took over a police station and seized guns inside. No police were in sight. In the southern city of Nasiriyah, Italian troops traded fire with civilian militiamen demonstrating against al-Yacoubi's detention. Also in the south, British troops clashed with protesters in Amarah.Al-Sadr's office in Baghdad issued a statement later today calling off street protests and saying the cleric would stage a sit-in at a mosque in Kufa, where he has delivered fiery weekly sermons for months. Al-Sadr supporters were angered by the March 28 closure of his weekly newspaper which was inciting violence against coalition troops. Also on this day, in an unrelated incident, another two U.S. Marines were killed by "enemy action" in Anbar province raising the toll of American service members killed in Iraq to at least 610. Anbar is an enormous stretch of land reaching to the Jordanian and Syrian borders west of Baghdad that includes Fallujah, a city where four American civilian contractors were slain Wednesday. At a checkpoint in Samarra, about 60 miles north of Baghdad, that was manned by Iraqi Civil Defence personnel, a car bomb killed three security officers and wounded another. In Kirkuk, also in the north, a car bomb exploded, killing three civilians and wounding two others.Bremer today announced the appointment of Ali Allawi as the new Defense Minister and Mohammed al-Shehwani, a former Iraqi air force officer, as head of the Iraqi National Intelligence Service.- April 22, 2004: The five suicide car bombings near police facilities in and around the city of Basra, Iraq killed at least 68 Iraqis - including 18 schoolchildren. About 100 people were wounded in the bombings, which occurred after 7 a.m. during the height of rush hour. Most of the dead were civilians. Ten boys and girls being driven to kindergarten in a minivan and eight girls in another minivan headed to a high school were killed in one of the blasts, according to police official Ali Abdullah.British Foreign Minister Jack Straw blamed "insurgents who are trying to disrupt the handover of sovereignty to the Iraqi people." It was complete idiocy. An insurgent is someone who rebels against authority and yet no one is more submissive to authority than a suicide bomber. The problem was that the Brits and Americans couldn't say that the bomber was a good Muslim corrupted by Muhammad and Allah because that would mean what they were doing in Iraq was foolish. One car exploded in Az Zubayr and then, 30 minutes later as people gathered at the scene, a second suicide car bomb went off in the same location. Police officer Hassan Kahlaf said, "The first bomber was dressed as a policeman." He probably was. Unable to hold themselves accountable, crowds of Muslims threw stones at the coalition forces as they were trying to reach the sites of the blasts, a British military source revealed.- April 22, 2004: Iraqi Muslims opened fire on Marines in the volatile city of Fallujah, resulting in heavy fighting that left 36 Islamic militants dead, and at least three Marines wounded, according to the U.S. military. It began around 6:30 a.m. when, Marines said, about 40 to 60 Iraqis attacked with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades. The Marines said the RPGs were coming so fast and furious that there were too many to count, according to the military. The Marines responded to the attacks with overwhelming small arms and mortar fire, as well as close-air support, killing 36 peolple. The military called those they had killed "insurgents" and "anti-Iraqi forces" in a written statement. The ferocity of the fighting was captured on video, with Marines unleashing a withering barrage of machine-gun fire. Some Marines fired from rooftops; others were seen running through the streets amid heavy gunfire. The battles lasted more than four hours. After coming under repeated sniper fire, one Marine was quoted by the military as saying, "The enemy can hide well, but not shoot well." And who was this enemy? Weren't the citizens of Fallujah among the people the Americans came to liberate? Why were the "liberated" acting as if they were being oppressed? The answer was obvious. Good Muslims were fighting non-Muslims because that is the basis of Islam. During the fighting, Marines repeatedly heard music lyrics blaring, "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Holy warriors come out to fight." A nearby mosque also broadcast loud messages, telling people to "rise up and fight," the U.S. military said. The truth isn't hidden. It is not difficult to understand. Islam is the enemy; it is mankind's enemy; it is God's enemy. The music, mosque, and militants were all singing the same lyrics. It is amazing something so simple and so obvious is either ignored or refuted by most everyone. It is as if evidence and reason no longer matter. As an example of just how lost we are as a people, Bremer said, "Remnants of the Saddam Hussein regime are largely responsible for recent attacks in Fallujah, Ramadi, and now Basra." He is oblivious to the music. Are you?- April 22, 2004: A Danish civilian missing in Iraq and presumed kidnapped was found dead today, the Danish government announced. He was one of hundreds of Western civilians who had or would suffer the same fate. The current death toll of 2,600 American troops killed in Iraq is just the tip of the death-berg.And that's the good news. Competitive Shi'ite and Sunni militias had now formed death squads. Thousands upon thousands of Iraqi civilians, perhaps as many as 20,000 would die at the hands of fundamentalist Muslim mass murderers plundering and pillaging their own people.- April 26, 2004: Two U.S. servicemen were killed in a Baghdad ambush. Iraqi teenagers looted anything they could pilfer from their bodies and then they burned their Humvees.- April 27, 2004: Four Muslim militants detonated a bomb under a car and then fired automatic rifles and threw grenades at Syrian security forces. Syrian dictator Assad, ever the idiot, said that violence in Iraq was a legitimate form of resistance to U.S. terrorism.- April 29, 2004: After sending American troops into the Islamic killing fields of Fallujah, where they were attacked as they searched every home and building for terrorists (as if they wore name badges or uniforms), the U.S. Army relinquished control of the murderous city to Iraq troops under the control of a man who had served as an officer in Saddam Hussein's military. More Americans died in vain.- April 29, 2004: The U.S. released the vehemently anti-American cleric, Sheik Jamal Shaker Nazzal, from custody. Muslims were not going to be held accountable for inspiring the murder of Americans.- April 29, 2004: In Iraq, eight U.S. soldiers were killed near the town of Mahmudiyah, by a car bomb. Although it was Islam's signature move, the murders were blamed on insurgents.- May 11, 2004: In Iraq, an American citizen named Nick Berg was beheaded by Muslims reading from the Qur'an. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, alleged to be one of the five black clad, armed, and hooded men who slowly sawed off Nick's head, was so affected by Islam, he was unable to reason. In a press release he equated his murderous barbarism to the demeaning treatment of prisoners held by the U.S. So proud was he of his good work in Allah's cause, the Islamic terrorist videotaped his savage behavior and released it on the web.If you have the stomach for it, you can see pictures from this video by following "The Slaughter of Nick Berg" link on Prophet of Doom's homepage. There you will find their religious justification: "Your Lord inspired the angels with the message: ‘I will terrorize the unbelievers. Therefore smite them on their necks and every joint and incapacitate them. Strike off their heads and cut off each of their fingers and toes." (Qur'an 8:12) "The punishment for those who wage war against Allah and His Prophet and make mischief in the land, is to murder them, crucify them, or cut off a hand and foot on opposite sides...their doom is dreadful. They will not escape the fire, suffering constantly." (Qur'an 5:33)."Do the bastards think that we are not their equal in fighting? We are men who think that there is no shame in killing." (Ishaq:489) "‘What do you think Khattab?' Muhammad asked. ‘I say you should hand them over to me so that I can cut off their heads. Thus Allah will know that there is no leniency in our hearts toward the unbelievers.' (Tabari VII:81).If you are able to witness Islam in action without throwing up, a frame grab taken from Islamic website video footage shot on May 11, 2004, shows a man, who identified himself as Nick Berg of Philadelphia, kicked to the floor by one of his five masked captors moments before he was beheaded. After one of the masked men read out a statement, they pushed Berg to the floor and shouted "Allahu Akbar! - Allah is the Greatest!" above his screams as one of them slowly sawed his head off with a large knife then grabbed Nick's head by the hair held it aloft facing the camera.A news report on this day revealed:"In a horrific display of barbarism, a masked person claiming to be Abu Mus'ad Al Zarqawi slaughtered American contractor Nick Berg. The video was released on a website that is frequented by followers of Ansar Al Sunnah (Friends or Helpers of the [i.e., Muhammad's] Way or Example) in Iraq. Almost immediately it appeared on a host of other Arabic language jihad websites. The video showed five men wearing headscarves and black ski masks, standing over a bound man in an orange jumpsuit - similar to a prisoner's uniform - who identified himself as Nick Berg, a U.S. contractor whose body was found on a highway overpass in Baghdad on Saturday.Sitting in a chair, Berg made the following statement: ‘My name is Nick Berg, my father's name is Michael, my mother's name is Susan.' Nick said on the video. "I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in...Philadelphia.'The video then changes to a scene of masked men, with Berg sitting in front of them. After reading a statement, the masked men were seen pushing Nick to the floor and then rotating his body to the side. One of the masked men put a large knife to his neck. A scream sounded as he cut off his head. During the whole time the five masked men were shouting "Allahu Akbar! - Allah is the Greatest!" They then held the head out before the camera."
Here is a full translation of the Arabic message that was posted with the videotape. It begins with the following headline: "Sheikh Abu Mus'ab Alzrqawy slaughters an American with his hands and threatens Bush with more."That was followed by:"A Statement to the Nation:The praise of Allah for all Muslims with his support and with the humiliating of those who attempt to defeat Islam and who attack it and who entice the unbelievers with their cunning. We appreciate the old days of Islam with its justice and prayer. We greet you from above the Islam lighthouse by its sword. To the Islamic nation: You rejoice at the first signs of the dawn that have started that have granted the wind of triumph. Allah was benevolent to us in Al Fallujah, granting us victory. It was on one of the days of Allah and that was known to Allah alone. To the Islamic nation: Does any excuse for waiting remain? How the free Muslim sleeps, with his eyelids closed. And he sees that Islam is slaughtered and can be seen bleeding its indignity. And there were the shameful pictures and the news of the evil humiliation of the Islamic people, the men and women in Gharib's prison. There we saw the jealousy, zeal and anger against Allah's religion. We saw jealousy for the Muslim's holiness. We act in revenge for the honor of Muslims. This is for Muslims is in the Crusader's/Christian's prisons. You are under the Islamic clerics then Allah. We complain about you. You see that Allah has brought an argument against you by the religion of Islam. A young man who was humiliated became the strongest force to date, breaking their nose and destroying their pride. We came to you that you might learn from us about the reliance on Allah and the meanings of the Qur'an and derive from our deeds the lessons of sacrifice and redemption. Because when you remain as women you master only the slapping language and know only the way of wailing and weepingThen this appeals the world's freemen, and this refutes Kofi Annan, and third it refutes Amr Moussa, because he demands peaceful demonstrations as if he did not hear Allah's saying: "O you the Prophet incited the believers to the fight."You were fed up with the fight of the conferences and of the oratorical battles. We came to you so that you take the jihad way and carry the sword that is sent by the Prophet's Lord. Allah has ordered the Prophet - peace be upon him - and he is Lord. The merciful are those who slit the necks of prisoners, killing them slowly. And for us, doing this is an example for you to follow and it is a good example. As for you, the Roman dog Bush, I hope you are displeased and we wait for you with Allah's Help. Your soldiers who tread Iraq's land will regret it. He dared ignite the Muslim's fervor. And another message to the traitor [Pakistani President] Pervez Musharraf. We say to him that we are lying in wait for you and your soldiers. We make demands on the Americans. And we will take revenge for the blood of our brothers in Iraq and elsewhere. And as for the American soldier's wife we say that we offered to the American administration this prisoner in exchange for some of the prisoners in Abu Ghraib prison but they refused. Then we say but if the dignity of Muslims in Abu Ghraib prison and others is not worth their blood and souls we tell you to know that the coffins will arrive to you, one coffin after another, as your people are slaughtered in this way....Allah said, ‘Then you will kill the polytheists where you find them and you will take them to where they can be seen.' Allahu Akbar! - Allah is the Greatest. All honor to Allah and to His Messenger and to His holy warriors. And our last claim is that the praise of Allah is the Lord of the Worlds!Abu Mus'ab Al ZarqawyPrince of Al Tawhid Group and JihadIraq22 Rabi I 1425*******************And you see the slaughter, your fighting brothers suspend the head of this unbeliever on one of Baghdad bridges so that they teach a lesson to others from the infidels and serves as a witness to the honor of the Muslims."
While it is unrelated to Islamic terrorism, there are three important points I want to make at this time since Nick Berg's murder was blamed on the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. First, there is no moral equivalency between humiliating captured terrorists in hopes of having them reveal information that will reduce future terrorism, and sawing off an innocent man's head while reading Qur'anic passages.Second, the photos of Iraqi prisoners harassed by the U.S. military in Iraq were made public by Time magazine. Had they reported on the policy without displaying the pictures, Nick Berg wouldn't have been murdered.Third, the U.S. military began court-martial proceedings against the service personnel who harassed the terrorist prisoners, ultimately incarcerating them for following orders. And yet the man who wrote the justification for their actions, encouraging the CIA and military to harass the prisoners, Alberto Gonzales, was promoted to Attorney General. A nation that responds in this manner will not long stand. While many will see me as being one-sided in my presentation, understand that the bad behavior of some Americans in Iraq has nothing to do with my mission at www.ProphetOfDoom.net, nor with anything that I support. I do not know the religion and/or politics, or the lack thereof, that caused the Americans to act poorly. Nor do we care. If there were a unified religious or political doctrine that emerged in America that caused thousands of its followers to hijack planes, blow up boats, perpetrate suicide bombings, and celebrate the murder and mutilation of others, I would be among the first to expose and condemn it. But since today, Islam is the lone political and religious dogma capable of motivating such perverse behavior on a global scale, I'll stay focused on my job of exposing and condemning it.I am not the only one who has studied the Islamic scriptures or who knows what the Hadith, Sira, and Ta'rikh reveal about Muhammad's example. The following article written by Andrew Bostom, entitled, "The Sacred Muslim Practice of Beheading," was sent to www.ProphetOfDoom.net."Reactions to the grotesque jihadist decapitation of yet another infidel Jew, Mr. Berg, make clear that our intelligentsia are either dangerously uninformed, or simply unwilling to come to terms with this ugly reality: such murders are consistent with sacred jihad practices, as well as Islamic attitudes towards all non-Muslim infidels, in particular, Jews. It dates back to the 7th century and to the Prophet Muhammad's own example.According to Muhammad's sacralized biography by Ibn Ishaq, Muhammad himself sanctioned the massacre of the Qurayza, a vanquished Jewish tribe. He appointed an arbiter rendered this concise verdict: ‘the men were to be put to death, the women and children were to be sold into slavery, the spoils were to to be divided among the Muslims.' Muhammad ratified this judgment stating that it was the decree of Allah pronounced from above the Seven Heavens. Thus some 600 to 900 men from the Qurayza township were lead on Muhammad's order to the Marketplace of Yathrib, today's Medina. Trenches were dug and the men were beheaded, and their decapitated corpses were buried in the trenches while Muhammad watched in attendance. Women and children were sold into slavery, a number of them being distributed as gifts among Muhammad's companions. Muhammad chose one of the Qurayza women (Rayahana) for himself. The Qurayza's property and possessions were divided among the Muslims as booty to support further jihad campaigns. The classical Muslim jurist al-Mawardi (a Shafi'ite jurist, d. 1058) from Baghdad was a seminal, prolific scholar who lived during the so-called Islamic ‘Golden Age' of the Abbasid-Baghdadian Caliphate. He wrote the following based on widely accepted interpretations of the Qur'an and Sunnah (the recorded words and deeds of Muhammad in the Hadith, Sira, and Ta'rikh), regarding infidel prisoners of jihad campaigns. ‘As for the captives, the emir [Islamic military ruler] has the choice of taking the most beneficial action of four possibilities. The first is to put them to death by cutting their necks. The second is to enslave them and apply the laws of slavery regarding their sale and manumission. The third is to ransom them in exchange for goods or prisoners. And the fourth is to show favor to them and pardon them. Allah, may he be exalted, says, "When you encounter those [infidels] who deny [Islam] then strike their necks." (Qur'an sura 47, verse 4)" This is from Abu'l-Hasan al-Mawardi, al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah [The Laws of Islamic Governance].Indeed such odious rules were iterated by all four classical schools of Islamic jurisprudence, across the vast Muslim empire. For centuries, from the Iberian Peninsula to the Indian subcontinent, jihad campaigns were waged by Muslim armies against infidel Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, Buddhists and Hindus. They were punctuated by massacres, including mass throat slittings and beheadings. During the period of Muslim rule, the Christians of Iberian Toledo, who had first submitted to their Arab Muslim invaders in 711 or 712 CE, revolted in 713. In the harsh Muslim reprisal that ensued, Toledo was pillaged. All Christians had their throats cut.On the Indian subcontinent, Babur (1483-1530 CE), the founder of the Mughal Empire, who is revered as a paragon of Muslim tolerance by modern revisionist historians, recorded the following in his autobiographical Baburnama, about infidel prisoners of a jihad campaign: ‘Those who were brought in alive [having surrendered] were ordered beheaded. After which, a tower of skulls was erected in the camp.' (The Baburnama-Memoirs of Babur, Prince and Emperor) The passage was translated by Wheeler M. Thacktson, Oxford University Press, 1996 and can be found on page 188.Recent jihad-inspired decapitations of infidels by Muslims have occurred across the globe. Christians have been beheaded by Muslims in Indonesia, in the Philippines, in the Sudan, in Pakistan, and in Nigeria. We should not be surprised that these contemporary paroxysms of jihad violence are accompanied by ritualized beheadings. Such gruesome acts are in fact sanctioned by core Islamic sacred texts, and classical Muslim jurisprudence. Empty claims that jihad decapitations are somehow alien to true Islam, however well-intentioned, undermine serious efforts to convey the true nature of the Islamic doctrine."
- May 17, 2004: The head of the Iraqi Governing Council, Abdel-Zahraa Othman, also known as, Izzadine Saleem, was assassinated by suicide bombers. Mr. Saleem, also spelled Salim, was a Shia Muslim and a member of the Daawa Islamic Party. The Arab Resistance Movement claimed responsibility for murdering him and several others. He was the second council member murdered since the council was established in July. Aquila al-Hasimi, one of three women on the IGC was shot dead in September.U.S. Administrator for Iraq, Paul Bremer, vowed to defeat those responsible while his country was empowering them. Without realizing that Islam means submission which is the antithesis of freedom, that the Qur'an condemns free choice and thus is antagonistic towards democracy, and that the religion's teachings are so flawed that there has never been a prosperous Islamic country, Bremer said: "The terrorist's vile act would not defeat Mr. Saleem's vision of a democratic, free, and prosperous Iraq."Witnesses said, "There were a lot of cars and people on foot standing there and then this massive explosion. I saw body parts everywhere." A previously unknown Iraqi group said it had carried out the attack. The Arab Resistance Movement al-Rashid Brigades posted a statement on the internet saying: "Two suicide bombers had been used to carry out a qualitative heroic operation, which led to the killing of the traitor and mercenary Ezzedine Salim. The Brigades pledges to the masses of our nation to pursue struggle until the liberation of glorious Iraq and dear Palestine."Not comfortable with the notion that Islam has created many terrorist groups, U.S. military spokesman Brig. General Mark Kimmitt said: "The bombing that killed the IGC president had all the hallmarks of Zarqawi - the use of suicide bombers, going after spectacular and symbolic targets, and killing large numbers of civilians."French President Jacques Chirac who gets very little right, astutely revealed: "I am as convinced as ever that there is no military solution in Iraq."- May 17, 2004: The U.S. said that its troops had killed 30 militiamen in the holy city of Karbala who were serving the Iranian financed Islamic cleric, Imam Sadr.- May 17, 2004: In overnight fighting in the southern city of Nasiriya, Iraq, one coalition soldier was killed as troops killed 20 Iraqis.
